Survival Guide

The World Needs Your Story

Basic survival guides include instructions on how to find and purify water, start and tend a fire, build a temporary shelter, read a compass, hunt and find food, successfully cook food over a campfire, dress a wound and learn how to tie a knot.

Daily survival looks different for everyone. Some people are literally or figuratively in need of finding a way to start a fire, make a suitable shelter, or figuring out a way to find north on a compass.

Some people are in search of ways to overcome what feels like impossible physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual struggles.

Whatever your challenge, keep fighting. Don’t give up. One day you will tell your story of how you’ve overcome a part of your life, and, it will become part of someone else’s survival guide.

Our history, communities, friends, family and faith are packed with stories, or survival guides for immediate use. Jeremiah 33:3 reinforces the idea that we can use His word as a guide to help us survive. He tells us, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

This post comes from a devotional series called 4:00 AM Faith. It is written each morning and sent in a condensed format to several people. If you are interested in receiving a daily faith boost, email me at lmcdonell2001@yahoo.com
